Dish Network really sucks. Customer service = India. DirecTV customer service = USA. Everyone I ever talked to at DirecTV from customer service to tech speaks clear english.

Nagra/Dish Network Satscams site continues to outright lie about True FTA and paint us all in with the pirates.

Expect DVR fees to go up or service levels to go down, since Dish lost the Ti-Vo case where THEY PIRATED Ti-Vo tech. Experts are placing the valuation for licensing at around $3 per Dish Network DVR, plus the $300 million Dish already lost. Who do you think is going to pay that in the end? Dish customers of course.

Dish lies about being the “HD leader” Check whereishd.com for yourself. Dish counts part time HD channels in their lineup where DirecTV only counts real HD channels.

Their “same TV” commercial is BS too. They don’t mention that they are comparing a more expensive DirecTV package with more channels to a Dish Network inferior package with less channesl, and pretending that they are comparing apples.

NPS pushes Dish Network to get a commision off of poor 4DTV guys. You really want to give them more $$, directly or indirectly?

Its been a couple years but having worked for one of the two (take a guess) I had the opprotunity to view both Dish & DirecTV HD programming on the same TV several times. Dish’s HD look lesser quality and more compressed on the high end quality TV’s I was dealing with.

Dish claims that they cannot meet local HD carriage mandates in the future. DirecTV is already way ahead with their high capacity Ka satellites. Better technology, more capacity.

Dish lacks several of the sports options available on DirecTV. This may not matter though if you are still going to do FTA with your BUD.

As I recall, don’t hold me to this, but I believe Dish Networks HD access fee is higher than DirecTV. Dish has some hidden charges in there too.

Unless you want a far inferior product to save a few bucks go with DirecTV.

The Primestar Ku FTA bracket is now available for ordering. These are not hard to make but for those without the equipment or the time you can buy one. Attaches a spitfire or other Ku LNB nice and secure to your Primestar/Starband without “rigging it” or modding the dish at all. Performance was equal to the larger HOTDISH90.

Gonna work on designing a quality adjustable bracket to put a spitfire or other 40mm LNB on the Primestar oval dishes. After that, one for C-band since I want to try and see if the Primestar Oval will work on C-band. Stay tuned…

First Charlie Ergen, AKA Echostar AKA DISH NETWORK gets nailed illegally retransmitting and selling out of market locals.

Now Ti-Vo has them over a barrel….$300 million dollar judgment plus basically the right to charge DISH whatever they want in royalties on the DVR tech that DISH STOLE/PIRATED.

I call it poetic justice.

Piracy doesn’t pay, does it DISH? Maybe SATSACAMS will do a piracy article on this story, since its about the biggest PIRACY case in history.
